Street Style-Worthy Partywear

December 3, 2018

Hi friends! I love the holiday season (despite the madness, lol) because travel slows down a bit. I can be such a homebody when the travel bug hasn’t bit in awhile but I take full advantage of the times I do get to head to a party or an event or even just out for drinks and dinner. Getting dressed up is still so fun to me, especially when I have something I’m excited to wear. San Diego gets pretty festive around the holidays despite the lack of winter weather, so there’s plenty to get out and do.

I have been loving all the pieces I’ve found from Reiss, but their partywear is seriously next level. They have so many gorgeous silhouettes that are reminiscent of classic couture and are surprisingly versatile. Rich tones, velvet, and suede are everywhere this winter and Reiss really hit the mark with those. I love how each piece is uniquely wearable and could be worn to occasions with varying dress codes without being flashy or overdone.

I may live on the west coast but I love getting dressed up with a little bit of New York style and spending an evening sipping a martini and eating amazing food. Gaslamp Quarter downtown is one of my favorite areas because there are sooo many incredible restaurants and bars. We never run out of options! The atmosphere is energized yet relaxed and perfect for date nights. I have found that I can get dressed up to go out in Gaslamp and not feel too overdressed. Plus, during the holidays there are tons of twinkle lights and festive decorations that make it so fun.

I am absolutely loving this gorgeous dress. It is so flattering and the gathered long sleeves with the snake burnout print give it that perfect edgy-feminine vibe that I love so much. The silhouette is easy and classic and transitions super well from day to night. I threw on a belt (similar with fun snake texture here) to add definition and dimension to the waistline and edge things up a little bit. I felt instantly put together with this look – simple yet elevated. The pattern of the dress really sets it apart from the crowd.

I love a good over-the-knee boot (these are almost identical)! You just can’t go wrong with a suede pair; they go with so much. They are perfect if it’s a little chillier outside and you still want a heel but want your toes to be warm, lol. I thought the height of the boots paired really well with the length of the dress. I grabbed an edgy leather jacket (similar here) to have an extra layer and I think it completes the look perfectly! There’s no such thing as too much snake print so I grabbed this super fun crossbody (this one’s really similar) and felt ready to go for a night on the town enjoying good food and great company.

Special thanks to Reiss for partnering on this post.
