Hello, everyone! I just returned to San Diego from the most wonderful, whirlwind of a trip in Provence, France (sandwiched by NYC and Miami, of course – more on that later). I was graciously invited to visit the place where L’Occitane creates its incredible skincare products in the South of France. We stayed at the amazing Le Couvent des Minimes Hôtel & Spa, which is surrounded by the most beautiful scenery – gorgeous lavender fields and lush green hills. They really take advantage of the surroundings; the whole aesthetic of the hotel complemented the nature around it. The team at L’Occitane took us on the most magical hot air balloon ride and it was amazing to see the beautiful French countryside, where much of the ingredients in their products are grown. One of my favorite parts about our stay though…the amazing croissants. They are no joke – they seriously live up to the hype lol.
L’Occitane is an amazing company and I’ve grateful to have been able to have a hands-on experience with them! We got to see their state-of-the-art research lab and gardens in the heart of Haute-Provence and I was blown away. They are committed to high quality products; that was evident in every step of the tour. It was so impressive to see the scientific research that backs up their products. It’s no wonder that their skincare line is so effective; they work hard to make sure that their products are worth the investment. I have loved L’Occitane for a long time now, but my appreciation grew much deeper after seeing the process with my own eyes! We got to participate in a workshop where the team showed us how to properly use the products and it was so helpful. They taught us about the brand and its values and how it benefits the consumer as well as everyone involved in the production process.
Traceability, sustainability, fairness, and quality are the four pillars of their commitment to consumers and partners. They definitely care deeply about the environment and using what nature has to offer in a way that’s sustainable for the produce and the environment, as well as the people they work with. I would go back in a heartbeat – I’m so appreciative of brands who are committed to quality work in all that they do, and I’m so grateful for the incredible experience they gave us.
L’Occitane purchases local produce whenever possible to both support local entrepreneurs and reduce their carbon footprint. They work directly with over 130 French farmers and 10,000 pickers to ensure that ingredients are as high quality and sustainably sourced as possible. They believe deeply in fairness when it comes to partnering with farmers, agreeing to multi-year contracts so growers are receiving a fair price for their produce. On all levels of production, they are uncompromising when it comes to protecting endangered species. L’Occitane is also able to guarantee the absence of chemicals and other harmful ingredients because of their growing and bottling process. Think of it like a farm-to-table restaurant, but for the best skincare line you can dream up!
Their credibility is unmatched. L’Occitane has proven to be a company full of integrity and committed to quality in their final products and every step in between. Start to finish, I was so impressed! I love so many of the products I’ve tried, from this almond shower oil to their moisturizing mist and everything in between. They’ve got the best selection of things to always keep in your purse (hello, shea butter hand cream!) as well as your new go-to staples (their anti-aging face cream is seriously amazing and this moisturizing gel will keep you glowing all day!). I love the fact that their products are natural – I know I can trust whatever I purchase from them. No unexpected break outs or reactions, just consistent results and happy skin.
Thanks for visiting! xx Erica
