I took a trip down to Valle De Guadalupe, aka Baja wine country, a few weeks back with my girlfriends and just wanted to quickly share my experience. Valle is less than a two hour trip by car from San Diego, which is shocking to me because I had no idea this beautiful place existed so close to home. To be honest, I totally wrote off traveling to Mexico by way of car several years back, but things have gotten a lot better and it is safe. Seriously. I felt completely comfortable and welcomed the entire time. In fact, I cannot wait to return and experience more of this region. The wine, food and lodging completely exceeded all expectations. We stayed at Encuentro Antiresorts in their Villa. To say the least, it was spectacular. I’ll let the pictures and video of the villa speak for themselves because I cannot find words to describe the flawless blend of modern design nestled effortlessly into nature.

The food was actually another great surprise. If you are into food, and who isn’t, right? You will not be disappointed. The artistry and passion that was put into every dish was simply inspiring. Some of my favorite places were Deckmans, Finca Altozano, and Tre Galline (my favorite – the chef/owner literally walked down to the garden to fetch the ingredients to make our meal when we sat).
We had the pleasure of teaming up with Aubrey Alba Films to capture some of the highlights.
