Hi Everyone! I woke up extra early this morning (4am to be exact!) to put out this post before heading out on a four day retreat. I’m excited to be able to unwind the next few ways and take a break from the craziness of the day to day rush. I honestly can’t think of the last time I took a day off of “work” and I am looking forward to learning how to find more balance in my life. Which brings me to today’s look -finding balance through contrast. In this particular look I am working on balancing the innate femininity of this gorgeous lace top with some edgy pieces. Leather and Lace always strikes the right note. Lace is a major trend right now and although my style isn’t particularly feminine I appreciate the intricate detail of such a beautiful fabric and so I found a way to make it work for me. I used the styling strategy of repetition throughout this outfit to make it feel cohesive. I was inspired by the design of the lace and found pieces that I already owned, which would play off it such as these really cool pumps that have a similar cut-out design, the cuff, my snakeskin bag, and my nail art – although that was totally unplanned :). Repeating an element throughout a look gives an outfit a really nice flow that brings a look to the next level.
Thanks for visiting! xx Erica
