It’s leather weather! The end of summer is always bittersweet, but fall fashion makes letting go of those carefree summer days all the easier. Leather jackets, for me, are the epitome of fall fashion. There is a quote, not sure who wrote it, but it always brings a smile to my face. It goes something like “I thought my life would suddenly improve if I got a leather jacket…and I was literally 100% right.” I couldn’t have said it better myself! So funny, yet so true!
So now that we have agreed that owning a leather jacket is a must let’s talk about color. Red is a really big color trend this year – after all Pantone’s color of the year is an earthy shade of red called Marsala. Deep reds look especially rich this time of year. Choosing a deep red leather jacket as opposed to a traditional black is a very wise investment. It is every bit as sophisticated and versatile as the black, but less harsh and is a better choice for someone who is a bit older or has some skin imperfections – black leather is notorious for highlighting “flaws” on the skin. Even if your skin is a nonissue, the deep red just feels so uniquely cool – especially when paired with blacks and grays. It makes the look just come to life!
