How to Layer Without Adding Bulk

It’s almost officially fall (only one day away!) and to me, fall means layering.  Not only is it really practical because you can add/remove layers depending on the changing temps, it also is a great way to add interest to an outfit.  I especially love the look of a cozy sweater under a blazer.  I find the contrast of soft and structure very cool.  I don’t think I’ve met anyone who doesn’t like the look of layers, but I know many that get discouraged because of the unflattering bulk it can create.  And I don’t blame them.   No one wants to look way bigger than they actually are, right?  To make today’s pairings work and still remain flattering,  I layered with a sleeveless sweater.  This completely eliminated the added bulk in the arms that a typical sweater would create.  To balance the larger proportion of the boyfriend blazer/sweater combo I paired them with some really great skinny jeans (by the way, I am obsessed with these jeans! Sooooo good!).  Fitted bottoms help maintain the figure and are always flattering when paired with oversized tops (very few people can pull off head to toe volume ).

I love this sweater and blazer combo! I am also a fan of layering sleeveless vests under coats and jackets for the same reason. When it’s really cold, A fur vest under a wool coat is my favorite way to keep warm!

I absolutely love how you paired the blazer and sweater together. The added textures between the two really add interesting details to the outfit. Looking beautiful as always!

      Hi Rachel,

The tank must not be available from the retailer I linked it to. I found it in a couple other colors, but not in the nude. I updated the link to another retailer. xx Erica
