Hi everyone! My trip to NYC for Fashion Week was amazing! It was a total whirlwind and surreal experience. Going to Fashion Week has been on my bucket list since I can remember. I always figured that I would get to go by winning a charity auction or something like that, I never thought I would actually be invited. In truth, I never expected to be a “blogger”. I started my blog as a hobby to compliment my personal styling business and never had any real expectations for it. I am so thankful for everyone who has embraced my blog and made it possible for me to attend fashion week!
I wore this beautiful lace blouse by Marissa Webb to her show. It is probably the prettiest top I own. The intricacy of the lace is just striking.
My first and last show of Fashion week was made possible through the kindness of one of my top style icons, Marissa Webb. I have been a huge fan of hers for years. Her style speaks to me. She is the queen of effortless dressing and has mastered the art of contrast. She flawlessly combines soft with edgy and feminine with masculine that always strikes the perfect balance. Her label stays true those attributes and to say I have completely fallen for her collection season after season is an understatement. The quality, fabrics, and tailoring are beautiful and most importantly the pieces are very flattering. They have a way of making you feel like a cool-girl when you wear them!
Some of my favorite looks from the Marissa Webb runway show…
Oh and did you see the shoes?!!! Dying!

The last show of NYFW I attended was the Banana Republic presentation in which Marissa Webb is the creative director. Banana Republic has kind of slipped my mind for the past several years, but once I heard that Marissa was leading the direction I knew she would do great things. Her influence is evident and I was absolutely blown away by the SS16 collection. Banana Republic needs to appeal to the masses and be classic, cool, and on-trend….not an easy task. I feel Marissa covered all of those bases and then some. The collection has something for everybody and is really beautiful! Banana Republic has rightfully earned a spot in my wardrobe.
My favorite looks from the presentation..
I had the honor of meeting MarissaWebb backstage at her show. If you follow Marissa Webb on Instagram you know from her inspiring posts that being kind is really important to her. Her kindness shows through when talking to her. It’s in her eyes and the way she speaks. At the Banana Republic presentation I had the opportunity to briefly speak with her again. Even though about a million people wanted to talk/interview her she still made it a point to introduce me to her team (who were also insanely nice!). Meeting her was a dream and a complete pinch me moment!
With extreme lighting + iphone pic + end of day tiredness resulted in not the most flattering pic, but whatever! I am thankful for getting this capture of us!
I also met the lovely Wendy from Wendy’s Lookbook. She is just as I expected her to be, genuinely nice. I first saw her at the Marissa Webb show – we were seated fairly close to each other. She had an openness about her and was looking around the room with a slight smile on her face. She looked approachable so I started talking to her. We hit it off right away and I was shocked she actually knew who I was! I saw her again at the Banana Republic presentation and got to chat with her some more. She is constantly smiling and her positive attitude shines through.

And Fashion Week wouldn’t have been the same without my friend Holly from Petite Flower Presents.

You look beautiful! The Marissa Webb pieces are incredible — especially the red lace dress. So neat you got to meet Wendy, she seems so kind. I love Holly! Great post!
