Night Out: Urban Utilitarian

Hi stylish friends! Today I’ve put together a fun night out look perfect for summer in the city.  I started with an utilitarian style top and keeping with the structured feel I paired it with a sleek miniskirt.   I personally like to stay within more of a neutral or earthy color story when styling utilitarian pieces – navy, grey, beige, rich reds/oranges, and deep marigolds feel especially modern. The deeper earth tones will  look especially great come fall.

I wanted to add some softness and fun to the look because it is summer after all!  Fringe sandals just seemed like the perfect pairing to add movement and  a little softness to the otherwise structured outfit.   The bag pairing was an especially tough choice, I went back and forth on it, but in the end I decided to take a fashion risk and  have fun by adding  a flirty feather bag.  It adds another soft element into the mix and gives the look a little more femininity.  Same goes for the peek of  fringe from the lace bralette.  This bralette acts more like a lacy camisole and was made to be seen – totally opaque and longer in length.  By adding in some softer, flirty and feminine elements I balanced the stricter vibe of the outfit and made it a little more fun! Hope you like it!

Taking risks is fun if the results are positive, and you got it! Love fringe heels, so stylish and glam!

Really chic, Erica! Even with the risk, it is still undeniably your signature style.
