Military Mix

Hi friends! I think we can all agree that when you first see today’s outfit the shoes really make the statement!  If you have been following my blog or Instagram for while then you will know that I have a serious weakness for shoes (read: no willpower).   I tend to invest in higher end shoes and handbags because I appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry of these pieces.  Plus they will last for years as long as you don’t go too trendy (These are trendy!).   My closet is contains both high end and high street pieces.  I really like mixing highs and lows and I think that is how most fashion forward people dress.  We know when to invest and when to save.

So back to the shoes!  I did not splurge on these at all, but I think they definitely look as if I did.  These are from Zara and I purchased them a year or two ago and they are perhaps the most “fun” shoes in my closet.  At the time of purchase, I was looking for a bold shoe that was at a lower price point because I knew I would only wear this type of shoe maybe twice a year – definitely a piece that is not worth the splurge.  When deciding on whether you should invest in an item or get a lower price point equivalent think about cost per wear.  Save on the trendy pieces and invest in the ones you will wear often and for years to come!

Great advice, friend! And I definitely would have thought those were high end shoes, as you make them look that way. So chic.
