Miniskirt and OTK Boots

This was one of my toughest photo shoots to date.  It was so windy that capturing a pic without my hair in my face or my clothes whipping all over was a miracle.  For today’s look I am pairing over the knee boots (OTK) with a leather miniskirt.  This is really a very of-the-moment pairing and I love it because it is fun and flirty without showing too much skin.  I chose bare legs because the weather here in SoCal will allow for it, but tights are a great option for when the weather is cold.

The key to pulling off this combo is balance.  When rocking a miniskirt keep the top covered and loose…a relaxed fitting long sleeve top and chunky sweaters are my fave.  I wanted to pick up the leather detail on the skirt so I paired it with a long sleeve top with leather detail and a leather sleeve jacket.

For the jewelry I kept it simple by adding pieces that are relatively dainty, but really adds to the overall look.  A bar necklace, like this one from Nialaya, is perfect when you need a little something, but don’t want it to be the the focus of a look.  I also love the look of layering dainty necklaces above the bar to add a little more interest.   I finished the look with a very cool multi diamond pattern ring and simple gold cuff, also by Nialaya.

This jacket is absolute perfection! I know this was ages ago, do you think I could find anything similar at the moment?

Thank you! Haven’t seen a similar yet, but with Fall just arriving at the stores there may be a similar. I’ll keep my eyes open!
