Putting together a great look can be overwhelming when you’re staring at an entire closet full of clothes.  So many choices can leave one stumped.  A question that I get often is where does one start?   When putting together an outfit I usually start by picking one piece that I want to wear and then work from there…it could be a beautiful top, a great pair of pants, or even a killer pair of heels.  For me, I usually start at the bottom with the shoes, but today I started at the top and created a look centered around at this beautiful silk shirt by Doll Memories.  The gorgeous color of the butterflies were my inspiration.  I started by grabbing all my pieces that coordinated or matched them.  I gravitated towards leather pants because the more structured material serves as a nice contrast to the soft silk top and gives the look a little bit of an edge.  When laying options for the jacket, handbag, and shoes next to the top and pants I really liked how the white pieces made the butterflies pop. I finished with some edgy jewelry that coordinated really well in terms of color and the overall feel I was going for.

You are rocking that burgundy, my friend! I think we will see shades of this color continue well into next year, especially with Pantone’s color of the year pick.
