Holiday Series: Sheer

Kicking off the holiday party series with tuxedo inspired look.  Today I’m  teaming timeless pieces with a very of-the-moment lace top with sheer panels.  The sheer trend continues to rein and I thought it would be a perfect look make this trend holiday party worthy.   When paired with conservative pieces this sheer top instantly becomes ultra chic and amount of skin showing is reduced dramatically. I am a huge fan of pairing very feminine or more revealing pieces with menswear inspired ones.  The combo really helps balance each other.    The overall vibe is stylish sophistication, but still has a little sex appeal.  I personally love a pant and jacket look for the holidays because when the weather is cold sometimes a dress just isn’t as practical, especially if you are like me and always feel cold.

Now, let’s talk about investment pieces and how to determine if a piece is worth the price tag.   True investment pieces should be of a classic style and timeless silhouette.  With proper care you could enjoy these outstanding pieces for a lifetime.  Both my jacket and pants are perfect examples of investment pieces.  They offer something visually special, are made with amazing fabrics and the quality of craftsmanship is outstanding.  I know I will enjoy these pieces for a very, very long time.  Examples of pieces to invest in would be a tuxedo jacket and pants, a neutral colored blazer, a long wool coat,  and classic little black dress to name a few.
